The Justice Court resides over a myriad of matters. Traffic tickets issued by the State Highway Patrol, Adams County Sheriff’s Department, Wildlife & Fisheries, Mississippi Department of Transportation and Public Service are resolved in the Justice Court.
The Court also hears matters of civil and felony cases. There is a filing fee for filing a small claim. The claim cannot exceed $3,500.00. Felony cases are heard in Justice Court as initial appearances and preliminary hearings.
The Judges also perform wedding ceremonies.
